When you submit a contact form, create a free-trial account, purchase a product, register for any of our promotional offers and newsletters, or participate in an online survey, we may collect a variety of information, including your name, mailing address, phone number, email address, and your language learning needs.

World Speaking or a World Speaking affiliated company may share this personal information with each other in order to process your requests, respond to communications, or improve the quality of our customer services. They may also combine it with other information to provide and improve our products, services, content, and advertising.

If you are purchasing one of our language courses as an individual, we may require your credit card information for payment. World Speaking uses Ogone e-Commerce solution for secure payments. This solution can be identified by the company’s logo and the words “Payment Processed by Ogone”, both of which will appear on the payment page. As an expert in security of payment, Ogone ensures that sensitive data are transmitted and stored according to security standards and the highest quality.

How we use your personal information:

The personal information we collect allows us to keep you posted on World Speaking’s latest news, product updates, and upcoming events. It also helps us improve our services, content, and advertising. If you do not want to be on our mailing list, you can opt out anytime by updating your preferences.

In addition, access to the services provided by World Speaking requires that you to register in order to obtain a user name and password. We may also use personal information for internal purposes such as auditing, data analysis, and research to improve the World Speaking’s services, and customer communications.

We may collect information such as occupation, age, education background, language, zip code, area code, time zone, etc. This information is sometimes necessary to better understand customer behavior and improve our services.

We may also collect information regarding customer activities on our website and on our online service platforms (CyberTeachers®, NetPlanning, NetReporting, and any other service related to the language training). This information is aggregated and used to help us understand which parts of our website, products, and services are of most interest to our clients.

If we do combine non-personal information with personal information, the combined data will be treated as personal information for as long as it remains combined.

World Speaking’s website and online service platforms may collect anonymous information by using “cookies”. Cookies help us better understand user behavior, tell us which parts of our website people have visited, facilitate and measure the effectiveness of advertisements and web searches. You are fully responsible for the personal information you choose to submit in these instances. For example, if you list your name and email address in a virtual classroom, that information is public. Please take care when using these features.

Children

World Speaking’s website is not directed to a child under the age of 13 and do not knowingly accept personal information from persons under this age. If we learn that we have collected the personal information of a child under 13 years old, we will take steps to delete the information as soon as possible.

French commission for data protection & civil liberties

World Speaking is registered in the French Commission for Data Protection & Civil Liberties (CNIL; registration number No. 1105487). World Speaking collects and stores information as described in this Privacy Statement in accordance with Article 32 of the Information Technology and Civil Liberties Law of January 6, 1978 modified by the 2004-801 Law of August 6, 2004.

World Speaking commits itself to follow the highly strict French and European Laws on the protection of personal information, and to ensure an adequate level of protection to the processing done.
